2011-2012 Season Overview

Four Seasons Theatre announces our seventh season which includes the Madison premiere of RENT, a cabaret concert of some of the greatest musical theatre songs every written, and a classic Sondheim musical, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.

Rent

December 2-18, 2011 at the Drury Theatre

produced in partnership with Madison Theatre Guild

Rent is a rock opera with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

Cattle call auditions will be held in early September with second round auditions scheduled for later that month.  Rehearsals will begin no later than October 10, 2011. Because of the adult content in this show, we are only considering actors age 18 or older.

Tickets for RENT are available through Brown Paper Tickets.

In addition, a 45 minute version of the program will be presented throughout the 2011-2012 season as part of our community outreach concerts in retirement communities and facilities and for civic organizations in the Madison area.

A Little Night Music

August 10-19, 2012 in The Playhouse at the Overture Center

One of Broadway's most neglected masterpieces, the romantic and achingly beautiful A Little Night Music deals with the universal subject of love, in all its wondrous, humorous and ironic permutations.

With ten principal roles ranging from Fredrika (a young girl) to her grandmother, Madame Armfeldt and the musically challenging roles of the ensemble of Liebeslieder Singers, A Little Night Music will showcase musical theatre talent and a lovely chamber orchestra from across the Madison area.

Tickets will go on sale in June 2012.
