Thursday, November 6, 2014 & Friday, April 24, 2015
For our 2014-2015 season, Four Seasons Theatre is proud to expand our partnership with the Wisconsin Union Theater and to launch a new series: Cabaret @ the Circle. The Fredric March Play Circle Theater provides the perfect setting for FST vocalists to bring you an intimate cabaret experience, full of songs, stories, and wonderful music.
Join us for our next Cabaret @ the Circle program on Friday, April 24 at the Play Circle at the Memorial Union. Real men sing showtunes in this evening of song and swagger featuring music from shows like Les Miserables, The Secret Garden, and more. Performers include Michael Brunner, Luke Landgraf, John Jajewski, Jace Nichols, Adam Shelton, and Bart Terrell.
Tickets ($19 general public, $6 UW students) are available through the Campus Arts Box Office at (608) 265-ARTS (2787) or online.
Our November 2014 Cabaret @ the Circle, “Love and Marriage,” features two arts powerhouse couples – Leslie and Anthony Cao and Abby and Jace Nichols. You may recognize Leslie and Abby from their recent appearances in our Great American Songbook Series – Leslie brought down the house with “Don’t Rain on My Parade” in the Great Dames Songbook and Abby’s “The Man That Got Away” stole the show in The Gershwin Songbook. Jace and Anthony have joined us both onstage and behind the scenes – Jace’s powerful performance as Javert in our 2013 production of Les Miserables was followed by directing The Fantasticks and Anthony’s piano and music directing prowess were matched by his appearance as Thuy in our Miss Saigon.
The performance is at 8 pm on Thursday, November 6 in the Fredric March Play Circle Theater in the Memorial Union. Seating is limited so advance purchase is recommended. Tickets ($19) are available online or through the Campus Arts Box Office at (608) 265-2787.
Anthony Cao was last seen with Four Seasons as music director for World Goes ‘Round and assistant music director for The Spitfire Grill. Currently, he stays busy as Director of Choirs at Madison West High School, Chorus Master for Madison Opera, dueling pianist at the Ivory Room Piano Bar with his wife Leslie, and Daddy to Eloise and Sebastian. He is thrilled to share the stage with such wonderful performers, spouses, and parents.
Leslie Cao was recently seen in Great Dames: Leading Ladies of Stage and Screen with Four Seasons Theatre. Other credits include soloist in the “Rock of Ages” Medley in the 2013 UW Varsity Band Show, Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens with Music Theatre of Madison, Threepenny Opera with Madison Opera, and The Spitfire Grill with FST. She received her BA in music in 2005 with a minor in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Abby Nichols is thrilled to be back on stage with her husband, Jace, whom she met in Four Seasons Theatre’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her most recent Madison theatre credits include Mrs. Barry in Anne of Green Gables with Children’s Theatre of Madison and Diana in Next To Normal with Madison Theatre Guild. She received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Pace University in New York and toured the country with the National Tours of Annie and Junie B. Jones.
Jace Nichols directed and designed the set for Four Seasons Theatre’s production of The Fantasticks. He also appeared in their productions of Les Misérables (Javert), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon) and Follies. Jace has directed for such area companies as Madison Theatre Guild, Strollers and Madison East High School. Some favorite projects include American Buffalo, The Crucible, Into the Woods, and Next To Normal (starring his talented wife, Abby).
