THE SPITFIRE GRILL

December 1-10, 2017 | Overture

Find your way back home.

Meet Percy, a feisty parolee, who follows her dreams to a small town in northern Wisconsin, where she finds work at the Spitfire Grill and carves out a place in the struggling community.
As the story unfolds, we are shown how small-town warmth can heal the broken souls within it.

Written by Fred Alley and James Valcq of American Folklore Theatre, the precursor to Door County’s own Northern Sky Theater, The Spitfire Grill is a celebration of fresh starts and reminds us of the power of what one person can do. Experience this unique Wisconsin gem with its infectious melodies in the intimate space of the Overture Center’s Playhouse.  Directed by Jen Plants with Music Direction by Thomas Kasdorf.

The Sondheim Confessional

Stephen Sondheim, modern master of the American musical theatre: His songs inspire us to dig deeper, challenge us to take risks, and propel us towards the balance of strength and vulnerability that yields the most memorable moments on stage. Four Seasons Theatre performers bring you their favorite Sondheim moments from well-loved shows like A Little Night Music, Follies, Sweeney Todd, and Into the Woods, as well as lesser- known productions like Anyone Can Whistle and Passion, in an unforgettable evening of song and story.

Featuring Tamara Brognano, Dan Jajewski, Anna Pfefferkorn, Sarah Streich, Doug Swenson, and Music Director Thomas Kasdorf.

“1776” in Concert

June 8-10, 2018 | Wisconsin Union Theater

I want to be in the room where it happened.

Travel back to Philadelphia in the summer of 1776, where John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and a host of other colonists dare to do the unthinkable and declare independence from Great Britain. Gender-blind casting brings this historic story forward into the modern age, so that the refrain of “Sit Down, John” resounds with shades of “Nevertheless, She Persisted.”

Enjoy this Tony-award winning musical in a modern concert production on
the historic Wisconsin Union Theater stage. Directed by Jen Uphoff Gray, Artistic Director of Forward Theater Company, with Music Direction by Thomas Kasdorf.
