Promenade Hall at Overture
The Gershwin Songbook will feature the music of George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. Featuring a cast of local singers with a jazz combo, the program will follow their respective careers from the early days in Tin Pan Alley to early film and Broadway success.
A one hour version of the program is available for outreach programs in senior centers, schools, and throughout the community.

Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 pm
Sunday, March 10 at 2 pm
Running time is approximately 2 hours including one 15 minute intermission.
Tickets ($25 adults, $20 students) for “The Gershwin Songbook” are available through the Overture Center box office. As of Noon on Thursday 3/7 we have 10 seats left for Friday 3/8, 10 for Saturday 3/9, and 5 for Sunday 3/10. As these are “added seats” they are only available for in person purchase. The box office is open Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm.
The core company includes Wendy Jones Hill, Abby Stevens, Erica Halverson, Marja Barger, Amy L. Welk, Robert A. Goderich, Doug Swenson, Dennis Yadon, Eric Peters, and Stan Hill. Joining them are Tamara Brognano and Sarah Marty along with guest artists Gail Becker, Ariana Douglas, and Gregory Brumfield and dancers Cindy Severt and Michael Bickle.
The Gershwin Songbook is made possible by a generous grant from the Pleasant Rowland Great Performance Fund for Theater, a component of the Madison Community Foundation.
