Rent is a rock opera with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

One of Four Seasons Theatre’s featured nonprofits for our production of RENT is Porchlight. Porchlight provides emergency shelter, food, employment services, counseling, and affordable transitional and permanent housing to homeless people in the Dane County area. The AIDS Network has offices in Madison, Beloit, and Janesville. Established in 1985, AIDS Network provides comprehensive, community-driven HIV/AIDS prevention and care services throughout South Central Wisconsin.
