Celebrating 23 years of storytelling through music and theatre, Four Seasons Theatre showcases local talent onstage and backstage in venues across Madison.
Four Seasons began in Fall 2004 as a dream of creating a company dedicated to producing musical theatre shows and workshops. Those conversations led to the development of a business plan and went from idea to reality with our first show, RAGTIME, a co-production with Middleton Players Theatre in Summer 2005. In the past two decades we've produced 69 shows and offered hundreds of community outreach programs in libraries, retirements communities and schools. We've also mentored countless high school and college students through technical theatre internships and crew positions where they're able to learn from and work side-by-side with professional designers, directors, and stage managers.
Through it all we've maintained our commitment to Madison audiences and Madison artists. The people who make it all happen - backstage and onstage - are your friends, colleagues, and neighbors. We start the 2026-2027 with a celebration of Leading Ladies of Stage & Screen, showcasing stellar women performers of our local theatre community. In December, we revisit All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, after successful productions in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. And in April, we re-envision the musical that launched Four Seasons Theatre over 20 years ago with RAGTIME: The Symphonic Concert. In addition we continue to produce the Listening with Leckrone Podcast and will offer outreach programs at a variety of venues across Dane County.

ALL IS CALM: The Christmas Truce of 1914

The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence―a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into “No Man’s Land” singing Stille Nacht. This begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, peace. A remarkable true story told in the words and song of the men who lived them.
This Drama Desk Award winning show uses music (from patriotic and popular tunes to folk music) and text (drawn from letters, journals, and interviews) to tell stories of soldiers in World War I. The holiday tradition of sharing this beautiful story with our community continues after packed houses in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

RAGTIME: The Symphonic Concert
Saturday, April 3, 2027 at 7:30 pm | Sunday, April 4 at 2 pm | Wisconsin Union Theater
Based on the 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, RAGTIME weaves together the stories of three intersecting groups in the U.S. in the early 20th century: Eastern European immigrants, the African American community in Harlem, and an upper-class white family. Together, they confront history’s timeless tensions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair.
Four Seasons Theatre performs RAGTIME: The Symphonic Concert, prepared by the original creators Terrence McNally, Lynn Ahrens, and Stephen Flaherty especially for the 2023 season of The Boston Pops. The concert will feature a 24 person cast of local singers and actors supported by a 34 piece orchestra.
