A Grand Night for Singing
Thursday, March 5 through Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Promenade Hall at Overture
There is no songwriting team in the Broadway pantheon more thoroughly American than the team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING shares some of the best-loved R&H tunes in re-imagined arrangements alongside little-known gems from the R&H catalogue. From the opening strains of “The Carousel Waltz” to the jazziest “Kansas City” you’ve ever heard, you’ll delight in these tunes from the team that engineered the modern American musical.
The talented cast (Rachel Holmes, Liz Griffith, Meghan Randolph, Jordan Peterson, and Chris Apfelbach) will be joined on stage by a small orchestra featuring UW-Madison School of Music faculty and alumni.
Tickets available through the Overture Center Box Office at (608) 258-4141, in person, or online.
